About us...
Hi I’m Abi
I’m a warm, approachable and compassionate counsellor and I believe that sometimes the most important thing is simply having someone who will really listen.
I’m BACP registered and fully insured with experience supporting people through a wide range of challenges and experiences. I have particular experience working with domestic abuse and sexual abuse alongside anxiety, stress, relationships, trauma, self esteem, life changes and many of the ups and downs that life can bring.
I also have a special interest in FND and neurodiversity. I aim to create a space where you feel understood rather than judged or expected to fit into a box.
I know that starting counselling can feel daunting. You might not know where to begin or even know exactly what you need. That’s completely okay we can work together.
You don’t have to have the right words, a plan or all the answers. We can take things at your pace together no matter how long it takes.
My approach is warm, honest and human. I want you to feel comfortable enough to be yourself, talk openly and explore whatever is bringing you to counselling.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between therapy and counselling?
The words therapy and counselling are often used interchangeably and there’s a lot of overlap between the two.
Counselling may focus more on something you’re going through right now, while therapy can sometimes involve exploring deeper patterns, experiences and relationships over time.
You don’t need to worry about choosing the right one. We can talk about what’s bringing you to therapy and find an approach that feels right for you.
What can I come to a session for?
You don’t need to have a specific diagnosis or know exactly what’s wrong to come to therapy.
You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low, stuck, struggling with relationships or simply want some space to understand yourself better.
We can start wherever you are.
I’ve never had therapy before what should I expect?
It’s completely normal to feel unsure about your first session. We’ll spend some time getting to know each other, talking about what has brought you to therapy and what you’d like support with. You won’t be expected to have all the answers.
Is everything I say confidential?
What you share in therapy is treated with respect and confidentiality, subject to the usual professional and legal limits. I’ll explain confidentiality and any exceptions clearly when we first meet.
Can I have therapy online?
Yes. Sessions are available online/in person or both depending on your preference and circumstances.
How long is a session?
Sessions are 50 minutes long but this can vary depending on your needs.
